Concerns, confusion surrounding Nebraska’s gender care law to be addressed Monday
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Several Nebraska groups are joining forces this Monday to discuss concerns and clear up confusion surrounding the Let Them Grow Act.
This comes just days after final draft regulations for the state’s new gender care law were released.
They detailed requirements for anyone under 19-years-old who receives puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones.
One of the specifications says pharmacists are not restricted from dispensing medication to minors, if they started taking hormones before October 1st.
State Senator Megan Hunt recently requested further clarification after learning patients were denied prescriptions.
There will be a 12-hour hearing on the regulations in Lincoln on November 28th.
ACLU Nebraska, Nebraska Appleseed and OutNebraska plan to answer any questions you have ahead of that date.
Private individual legal consultations are also available.
