Concordia vs. Northwestern College: Men’s team wins eight in a row, women’s team loses in final seconds

SEWARD, Neb. (KLKN) – There was many college basketball double headers happening in the Lincoln area Saturday, including two high intensity contests in Seward.
Concordia battled with Northwestern College in both Men’s, and Women’s basketball.
The Women’s Bulldogs lost a nail-biter to the Raiders in the first game, 74-73.
Concordia missed two free throws down the stretch. Northwestern College responded with a game winning jumper from Hali Anderson with 0:03 seconds remaining in regulation.
Junior Kristin Vieselmeyer led the way for the Bulldogs scoring a game high 27 points.
The Men’s game tipped off just 20 minutes after the dramatic finish, and fans saw an incredible performance.
Concordia coasted to an eighth straight win, defeating Northwestern College 85-70.
Tristan Smith led the Bulldogs in all categories, finishing with 17 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.
Concordia’s defense also stepped up in a big way holding the Raiders to just 37.1 % from the field.
The Bulldogs handed the #3 team their second loss of the season, and will look to make it nine straight wins next Friday night in Ann Arbor, Michigan against Concordia University Chicago.
The women’s team will also hit the road to Omaha Wednesday night vs College of Saint Mary.
