LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A construction worker was seriously injured Thursday during a project at a southeast Lincoln home, police say.

Around 9:40 a.m., first responders were sent to the home near 84th Street and Yankee Hill Road on a report of a man trapped under concrete.

By the time crews arrived, the man had been rescued from the concrete, Lt. Justin Armstrong said.

Investigators think concrete caved in on top of the worker while he was doing foundation work at the home.

He was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Armstrong said an investigation is ongoing.
