Confirmed shooting in northwest Lincoln

UPDATE: Lincoln Police have confirmed a shooting in northwest Lincoln.

When officers arrived on scene at Fairfield West Apartments around midnight on Monday, they found a 25 year old woman with multiple gun shot wounds.

She was taken to the hospital and remains there in serious, life-threatening condition. 

Officers will stay on the scene throughout the morning, searching for evidence and speaking with neighbors.

At this time, police do not believe there to be any ongoing threat to the public.

Investigation is ongoing.

Scanner reports a possible shooting near 3rd and Fairfield. 

Our reporter on the scene says that Lincoln Police have blocked off the area and are canvassing the scene.

We’re awaiting official word on the incident, but the initial call came in around midnight, Monday.

At this time it’s best to avoid the area.
