Confirmed structure fire near Old Cheney and Warlick Blvd

Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to a two-alarm-fire in an apartment complex near Old Cheney Road and Warlick Blvd on Friday.
The call came in shortly after noon.
Fire inspector Ken Hilger said the fire started in the attic due to a lightning strike during a storm that moved through the Lincoln area in the late morning hours.
The fire is under control at this time.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue continues to monitor the area for hot spots, which will continue into the afternoon.
The amount of damage caused by the fire is unknown at this time, but several families living in the units affected will be displaced until Monday at the earliest.
