Conroy’s Family Bakery closing its doors February 16th

Conroy’s bakery has been a cornerstone of Lincoln since 1957. It was started by Jim and Grace Conroy, and is now owned by their son and their grandson, Nate.

“It’s mixed obviously. It’s a double edged sword. You know, a big relief in so many ways. My grandparents started this a long time ago, so it’s a tradition, and it’s kind of hard to be the one to let it go, so that’s kind of hard to deal with,” Nate Conroy Co-Owner of Conroy’s Bakery said.

Conroy’s will be closing its doors on February 16th. Since their announcement, they say the outpouring of love and support from the community has been overwhelming.

Even though they are closing, they say it doesn’t mean this is the end for Conroy’s.

“As of now, we’re not going to reopen right away for sure, but what dad proposed so far, maybe down in the future we might open again, but there is no timeline for that,” Conroy said.

With all of the love and support, the whole family is very happy for the support.

“I just want to say thank you, everybody, in Lincoln for supporting us over the years. We’ve been very blessed, so we want to thank you,” Conroy said.
