Lincoln art studio hosts ‘Indelible Landscape’ exhibit
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Constellation Studios has been hosting “The “Indelible Landscape” since May 5.
The exhibit, which features four artists from around the nation, including Joslyn Andreason from Nebraska, aims to inspire awe of nature.
Also featured alongside Andreason, who is currently studying printmaking at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, are Eric Rewitzer of California, Mary Brodbeck from Michigan and Catherine Meier from Minnesota.
The exhibit examines our place in the world through the eyes of artists.
All four artists boast a unique style.
Karen Kunc, the director and owner of Constellation Studios, said where an artist grew up can become a major inspiration in their work.
“It was an interesting way to bring together artists who are making images of recognizable and important places that have impacted the artists themselves,” she said. “The artists are definitely impacted by their origin.”
Kunc explained the detailed creation techniques and the importance of connecting with the art during the process.
“At Constellation Studios, we focus on printmaking, papermaking and book arts, and these artists are actually working on paper and using their process of printmaking or watercolor or drawing on the paper to actually engage with the material itself to contribute some effect,” she said.
Kunc works directly with many artists at UNL and said many of those connections inspired the idea to create a showcase heavily focused on nature.
“The Indelible Landscape” will be open to the public until June 3o, and the studio plans on hosting more showcases revolving around nature in the near future.
