A new report regarding the 2015 riot at the prison in Tecumseh contradicts claims that the riot occurred “spontaneously.”

State lawmakers are criticizing corrections officials after not immediately releasing a report about a 2015 riot at the prison.

The third party report says the prison was already primed for the riot that killed two people.

Members of a legislative committee have voiced frustration about that report not being immediately released.

Prison Director Scott Frakes said the report wasn’t disclosed because it contained sensitive security information.
