Cool, Cloudy, and Rainy to End the Week
This afternoon, temperatures will reach the low to upper 50s, with a few spots reaching the lower 60s under mostly cloudy skies. Light rain showers and even a few rumbles of thunder are expected between 8 AM and 4 PM. Tonight will stay much warmer, with lows in the 40s and DENSE FOG occurring after 11pm.
This morning near 8:00am, expect light to moderate in areas like Fairbury, Hastings and Hebron. This activity will increase along and south of I-80 early this afternoon. A few rumbles of thunder will also be possible as moisture increases near noon. The rain looks to be out by Friday night lights. Expect DENSE FOG Saturday morning across the state, especially where rain has fallen.
Temperatures will run about 10 degrees cooler today due to the cloud cover and rain showers this morning and afternoon. For the rest of October, highs are expected to stay fairly consistent, ranging from the upper 50s to around 61 degrees.
Friday night lights are here, and it’s going to be a bit chilly and cloudy for kickoff! Temperatures will start in the mid-50s and slip into the lower 50s by the end of the game. You’ll definitely want a light jacket if you’re heading out to cheer on your team tonight.

The Huskers football game on Saturday looks to be cloudy, drizzly and chilly. Through Saturday, a few light sprinkles, maybe a light rain shower could occur but nothing to worry about. Temperatures will stay in the upper 50s and lower 60s with cloudy skies and SE winds 5-15 mph. A jacket and even a poncho will be quite nice through the game!
