Coolest open to November in 18 years
November is opening the coolest it has in nearly two decades in Lincoln. Temperatures only rose to the upper 30°s and lower 40°s Monday afternoon. This is the coolest high temperature on November 1 in the state capital since 2003. It is also the coolest high temperature in 7.5 months.
Skies will initially start mostly cloudy. As high pressure builds in, skies should clear before sunrise. This should allow temperatures to drop to the middle and upper 20°s by Tuesday morning.
For over a week we’ve been talking about a cool open to November. That will be the case for a few more days. Highs in the middle to upper 40°s is expected for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Medium-range computer models suggest temperatures climb back above normal as we approach the weekend. It looks like warm temperatures should hang around through the weekend and in to next week.
