We all know that the West Nile Virus posses a threat to humans, but is it a danger to your pets? According to a recent survey of veterinarians, the top three threats to dogs and cats are fleas, ticks, and heartworm disease. West Nile Virus finished last as a concern among vets, with only seven percent of those polled considering it a issue.

Instead of West Nile, veterinarians say pet owners should look out for fleas and ticks, threats they feel are being overlooked.
