Couple frosty starts with gradual warming this week

A soggy end to last week into this past weekend led to much of the area seeing about 0.4″, if not more. Now halfway through October, Lincoln is sitting just about right on rainfall for the month. However, little progress has been made in the overall deficit. Just for the period of “meteorological fall” since September 1st, we are still behind by well over two inches.

Lincoln Precip Climate Summary

The gloomy conditions will clear for the sun to come back for all of Monday. Dry, comfortable conditions will persist through all of this upcoming week. Look for temperatures warming by almost 10 degrees for Monday from what we felt over the weekend.

Hour By Hour W Icon

Light winds and clearing skies overnight into the first part of Monday led to frosty temperatures in the 30s. We may do that all over again, with forecast temperatures for Tuesday morning in the upper 30s.

Dma Tonight Low

We’ll have these two frosty starts (Monday and Tuesday mornings) before we get milder again. In fact, lows by Tuesday night into Wednesday morning will be in the lower 50s.

Jess Frost Territory

High pressure building back in will allow us to gradually warm back into the 60s and 70s for the first part of this next week.

By Wednesday, we may see a front move through with questions still on where the precipitation will track with that lobe of energy sweeping nearby. There’s a small chance at least to see some rain with that, but otherwise we will be dry.

Week Ahead

Temperatures in the 60s and 70s this week don’t get more comfortable than that at this time of year!
