Couple more days below normal with spot storms
This past weekend was a nice change of pace compared to the extreme heat we endured the weekend before. Temperatures topped out in the upper 70s on Saturday, thanks to a lot of cloud cover and some rain. Sunday featured some more sun, and temperatures responded by warming slightly.
We anticipate yet another day or so where we’ll be below average for temperatures in late July. There could be some instances of fog again Monday morning, but the densest fog is expected to mainly impact areas east of the Missouri River.
A mixture of clouds and sun will make for a similar day Monday compared to Sunday. Highs will also end up in a similar spot in the low to mid 80s.
With the heating of the day, some spot storms will pop up on radar once more. These will die off again with sunset by the evening. The potential for severe weather is rather low with these types of thunderstorms, and we’re hoping to turn the corner on a quieter trend going forward.
There’s a smaller chance to see any pop-up storms again on Tuesday, with the rest of the week remaining warm and dry.
In fact, the next several days most models are only hinting at the potential for a few hundredths of measurable rainfall if we see much of anything.
We’ll continue a gradual warm up over the course of the entire week – the upcoming weekend and early next week looking to be when that warming somewhat peaks with the hottest days.
