Court docs detail what police say led up to deadly north Lincoln hit-and-run
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Court documents are shedding more light on what police think happened before a deadly hit-and-run last week.
About 8:15 p.m. on May 14, Cindy Martinez and Alejandro Murillo, both 22, left their home near 44th Street and Colfax Avenue, according to an arrest affidavit filed Friday.
Police said Martinez was driving, and Murrillo, her boyfriend, was in the passenger seat.

After they had driven a few blocks, Murillo “became upset,” the affidavit says.
He got out of the vehicle at 37th Street and Fremont Street and started banging on the windows, police said.
Martinez drove off, hitting Murillo.
A bystander saw him lying in the road a few minutes later and called 911.
Murillo was taken to Bryan West Medical Center, where he died later that night.

At the hospital, Martinez told investigators that the last time she saw Murillo was at a home near 44th Street and Cornhusker Highway, according to the affidavit.
She told police that he got upset and walked away, the affidavit says.
But “several interviews” contradicted her version of events, police said.
On Thursday, Martinez turned herself in at the Lancaster County Jail.
She has been charged with leaving the scene of a serious injury or death accident.
Martinez paid $9,000 in bail on Friday to be released from jail.
She is due back in court on June 20.
