COVID-19 booster shots available for immunocompromised
Those who identify as immunocompromised can now start receiving their third shots

OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) – The Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) will make third doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines available for individuals who self-identify as immunocompromised.
There are many conditions that can make a person immunocompromised, and the DCHD encourages anyone who is unsure if they are considered immunocompromised to speak to their doctor first.
Third doses can also be given at DCHD’s main clinic at 1111 S. 41st St on Fridays 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There are DCHD affiliated pop-up clinics this week where you can recieive a third dose. Vaccine clinics this week include:
Friday: UNO Dodge Campus/Hayden House, 6533 University Drive S, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Saturday: UNO Dodge Campus/Hayden House, 6533 University Drive S, 1 p.m – 3 p.m. Benson Health at Lake Street Apartments, 2400 N. 34th Ave, 12 p.m.-3 p.m. Farmer’s Market (Old Market), 519 S. 11th St, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
On Thursday, August 19, the DCHD confirmed 183 positive tests of COVID-19.
