COVID-19 increases in Lancaster County
7-day rolling average higher in November

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – In a coronavirus update news conference on Tuesday Health Director Pat Lopez said the 7-day rolling average for COVID-19 in Lancaster County has risen.
In October, the daily average of COVID-19 cases was in the 80’s, the daily average is in the 100’s, according to the 7-day rolling average.
Lopez also says hospitalizations are high, as of Tuesday 94 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 54 of them are Lancaster County residents.
Booster shots are also important in stopping the spread of the coronavirus, according to the health director.
“We strongly urge every person who is eligible to receive a booster dose to get one as soon as possible,” Lopez says. “We are seeing more breakthrough cases. Thirty-four percent of the cases in the past four weeks were in people who were vaccinated.”
There are 40,000 Lancaster residents with their booster shot, but 19,000 eligible citizens haven’t received their booster shot yet.
