Cozy, inclusive and green. Lincoln salon aims to support clients and the environment

A new, environmentally conscious salon held an open house Saturday afternoon to familiarize the community with their unique concepts.

Hive Hair Lab located at 3203 South 33rd Street is a new boutique salon. The owner and stylists say their mission is simple: take care of people and the environment. They focus on the re–use and recycling of products they encounter, as well as and giving back to the community.

“We don’t care where you came from, what economic status you are, what u look like, what your gender is, when you come in just as you are we want to make you look your best and feel your best and you know we also want to do the same with the environment so its kind of a kickback on both,” says owner and stylist Allison Snell.

Snell says they want Lincoln to know they are a safe place. At Saturday’s open house they also partnered with Voices of Hope as part of their community outreach mission. All donations from the open house will go to support victims of sexual assault.

The salon, which is located inside a newly-renovated 1920s home, was named and inspired by a trip Snell had taken to Slovenia. After admiring the country’s efforts to help the environment and preserve the bee population, the name and overarching concept of the salon came naturally.

The salon features four stylists, Allison, Luke, Bobbi, and Becky.
