Crash kills four people in Cass County, where the holiday became a nightmare
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Four people are dead following a crash in Cass County, where emergency responders put holiday festivities on hold and jumped into action.
The Ashland Volunteer Fire Department says two vehicles were involved in the wreck that was first reported a little after 8 p.m.

Barricades were in place surrounding 238th Street and Church Road near Greenwood as several agencies responded to the scene.
Right now, it’s not clear what went wrong or if anyone else was hurt.
Authorities also haven’t released the names of anyone involved.
State Sen. Julie Slama commented on social media: “Awful. Heartbreaking way to end the day in Southeast Nebraska. Andrew and I send our prayers to the victims, their families, and our first responders who answered the call.”
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says it will provide an update on Wednesday.
