Crash near Fremont sends Nebraska trooper, other driver to hospital

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska state trooper and another driver were injured Tuesday in a crash north of Fremont.

The trooper was en route to help on another call around 4:45 p.m., according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

The patrol vehicle was going east on Highway 275 and collided with a van headed north on North Luther Road, the patrol said.

Authorities said the driver of the van was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

The trooper called for help, and bystanders came to the aid of both drivers.

The driver of the van was flown to an Omaha hospital with injuries that authorities think are not life-threatening.

Authorities said the trooper was taken to a Fremont hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s office will investigate the crash, according to the patrol.
