Creighton tops Nebraska 98-74

The Huskers suffered their third loss of the season against in-state rival Creighton.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska (3-3) faced off against in-state rival Creighton (4-1) on Friday. The Huskers suffered their third loss of the season and fell to the Bluejays 98-74. That was the most points Creighton has ever scored against Nebraska.

Creighton went on a 9-0 run late in the first half, and led 44-40 at halftime. The Huskers couldn’t get anything going in the second half. Nebraska had 25 turnovers on the night.

Guard Marcus Zegarowski had a team-high with 22 points for the Jays, 6-of-13 from the field, 5-of-7  from the arc. Guards Teddy Allen and Trey McGowen’s had another double figure night for the Huskers. Allen scored 26 points and recorded nine rebounds. McGowen’s added 15 points.

The Huskers are back in action on Monday. Nebraska heads to Madison to take on No. 13 Wisconsin. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CST.
