Lincoln home suffers $100,000 worth of damages in early morning fire
This time a duplex caught fire early Wednesday morning
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – UPDATE: Lincoln Fire and Rescue say the house suffered $100,000 worth of damages. Around $75,000 of the damages came from the contents inside of the house.
A next-door neighbor called in the fire early Wednesday morning. Firefighters got there and found smoke and flames from the front window, according to LFR.
The cause of the fire was a faulty cord on a lamp, LFR says. The resident was not home at the time of the fire.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — In what’s becoming far too common, crews are battling yet another house fire around the Lincoln area this morning.
This one is burning near Harwood Street and Worthington Avenue.
Early reports are that a duplex caught fire around 5:40 this morning, with flames seen in the living room.
Right now it appears everyone was able to get out of the home.
No word just yet on what sparked this latest blaze.
In what’s got to be a little relief for Lincoln’s exhausted crews, the temperature is at least above freezing.
One of the blazes they battled in this recent rash of fires was in sub-zero temps.
Freezing conditions increase the slipping hazard by creating ice from hoses, and in one case this past week, actually froze a fire hydrant.
