Crews fight garage fire in central Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Firefighters battled a garage fire Tuesday night in central Lincoln.

The fire was reported about 9 p.m. near 27th and C streets.

The detached garage was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the garage collapsed with a vehicle inside.

Some power lines were also downed, she said.

The vehicle’s fuel tank, which Lierman estimated was holding about 20 gallons, ruptured.

The garage had $40,000 in damage, and the contents sustained another $10,000 in damage. A nearby garage was also damaged.

Lierman said the cause of the blaze was electrical.

No one was injured.
