Crews respond to fire at Seward factory
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several crews responded to a fire Wednesday at a factory in Seward.
The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. at the Hughes Brothers factory near North 13th and Seward streets.
Seward Fire Chief Tayler Mifflin said workers were welding on the roof of a sawdust bin.
The sparks from the welding then ignited the sawdust, according to Mifflin.
The fire has since been extinguished, and the damage was contained to two sawdust bins.
Additional crews from Milford, Staplehurst and Garland were called in to help put out the fire.
