Dangerously cold wind chill values this morning 1/6/2022

Thursday Morning Weather Update January 6, 2022

6 AM WIND CHILL:

2021 Klkn

Nebraska is currently dealing with dangerously cold wind chill values this morning. Temperatures are in the low single digits with wind chill values around 15 to 30 degrees below zero. A Wind Chill Advisory will remain in effect through noon today, but the cold wind chill values will linger through the rest of the day today. Highs will only warm to the upper single digits and low teens with wind chill values hovering at or below zero all day. We will also remain dry today, but clouds mixed with sunshine are likely for most of your Thursday. Clouds continue to increase into overnight today and will act as a blanket to prevent temperatures from plunging again. The wind will also switch back out of the southeast, which will help bring in warmer air. With that said, overnight lows will remain above zero, but wind chill values will still be below zero. Highs will warm up a bit tomorrow with most of the area back in the mid-teens and then the 40s return for Saturday! Most of next week also looks warmer with above average temperatures.
