LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was killed Monday afternoon in a crash on a highway in rural Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened near Highway 15 and 722 Road, just north of Fairbury.

A Ford Mustang — driven by 71-year-old Terry Enghauser of Davenport — was heading north on Highway 15 when it left the road.

The vehicle hit and embankment, causing it to roll over.  Enghauser was ejected from the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
