DaVinci’s holds 36th annual free Easter lunch for low-income community members

Community members enjoyed a warm meal free of charge at DaVinci’s at 11th and G street on Easter.

Hundreds of pounds of pasta, pizza and garlic bread was served to low-income community members in need of a warm meal on Easter Sunday.

It was the 36th annual Free Easter Lunch at the 11th and G street DaVinci’s location.

The family who owns the restaurant started serving the free lunch on Easter back in 1984 as a way to give thanks to the community.

All of the volunteers donate their time to help out.

“No one should be alone on Easter so we love coming and celebrating Easter with everyone, with the volunteers and the people who come and eat with us,” said Brianna Knudson, the Volunteer Coordinator.

As an added treat, around 800 cupcakes were donated for the special lunch.
