Death of man near Lincoln ruled a homicide

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities say the death of a rural Lincoln man is a homicide.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that an autopsy found that Gene Oltman died of blunt force trauma.

Investigators say they will now work to determine what object was used.

The 78-year-old man was found dead Monday at his home near Southwest 40th and West A Streets.

Authorities said earlier this week that his wife was the only one home at the time of his death, but they have not named her as a suspect.
