UPDATE: Person killed on Hwy 77 North and I-80 identified

Update:

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person killed in an accident along Hwy 77 and I-80 Monday afternoon.

LSO says, Driver Patricia Plautz was driving a red 2013 Honda CR-V and had front seat passenger, Dennis Plautz.

Driver Lois Vachal was driving a silver 2013 Chrysler Town and Country and had front seat passenger Stan Vachal and left middle passenger Addison Ellinghausen-Anderson.

The Honda was turning left from the eastbound I-80 off ramp onto northbound Hwy 77 North on a green light, when the southbound Chrysler on Hwy 77 North ran a red light and struck the left side of the Honda.

The Honda Rolled one complete time before coming to a rest.

Patricia and Dennis Plautz were transported to Bryan Health Center West Campus, with critical injuries.

Dennis Plautz died of his injuries at the hospital.

Lois Vachal, Stan Vachal and Addison Ellinghausen-Anderson were transported to Bryan Health Center West with minor injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected.

UPDATE: The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office confirms one person has died after a crash Monday afternoon.

It happened near North 56th Street and I-80 just after 3 o’clock. 

LSO says a car was turning when it collided with a van that was heading south on 56th St. 

Two people were inside the car. Deputies say the a male passenger was killed and the female driver is in critical condition at a hospital.

Three people were in the van; two adults and one child. They were all taken to the hospital in non-life threatening condition. 

The identities of those involved have not been released.

The crash is still under investigation.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is responding to an accident on I-80 and N. Highway 77. 

According to scanner traffic, two cars collided on the off-ramp, and a van rolled. 

There are reports of multiple injuries and potential road closures. 

Avoid the area.
