Deputies arrest second man involved in robbery of Beatrice woman, sheriff says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Deputies have arrested a second man involved in the robbery of a 33-year-old Beatrice woman, Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said.

On Wednesday around 3 p.m., deputies and members of the Metro Fugitive Task Force arrested 31-year-old Kenneth Miles in Omaha.

Wagner said Miles was arrested on suspicion of robbery and using a weapon to commit a felony.

Miles and 40-year-old Thomas Angell were driving the woman to Lincoln on Saturday when they kicked her out of the vehicle in rural Lancaster County.

The two men shot at the ground before kicking the woman and stealing $10,000, according to an arrest affidavit. jk

When deputies arrested Angell on Saturday, they found $3,000 inside his pockets.  The rest of the woman’s cash has not been found yet, Wagner said.

During a follow-up investigation on Tuesday, deputies found several stolen items in Angell’s garage.

Those items included a 1997 Honda Shadow motorcycle, two trailers, a department of corrections jacket with a badge, a generator and a jumping jack tamper.

Wagner said these items were valued at around $8,000.
