LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was caught Thursday with over 90 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle in north Lincoln, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says.

Around 10 a.m., members of the Criminal Interdiction Unit pulled over a Subaru Outback for “several traffic violations” on Interstate 80 near the Lincoln Airport.

Authorities approached the car and smelled marijuana coming from inside, according to Chief Deputy Ben Houchin.

The vehicle was searched, and deputies found 91 pounds of marijuana in a hockey bag.

They also discovered 2.2 grams of crack cocaine underneath the vehicle’s floorboard, Houchin said.

The driver, 57-year-old Jon Montoya of California, was arrested on suspicion of felony drug charges.
