Deputies seize oxycodone pills, marijuana in north Lincoln traffic stop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Florida man was arrested Thursday after deputies found drugs during a traffic stop in Lincoln, the sheriff’s office says.
Around 8:30 a.m., the criminal interdiction unit pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 80 near the Lincoln Airport.
The driver, 23-year-old Eric Miernicki, agreed to a search of his vehicle, Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.
During the search, deputies found three oxycodone pills, 12.5 grams of marijuana and $22,900 in cash.
Houchin said they also found receipts for mailed packages, which might contain marijuana.
“The Postal Service has intercepted the packages, but I have not heard yet what was in them,” he said.
Miernicki was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.
