Deputy failed to yield in northwest Lancaster County crash, authorities say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lancaster County deputy was ticketed in a two-vehicle crash in Raymond on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office says.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 42nd Street and West Raymond Road.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said Deputy Christopher Chance was heading east in a marked cruiser when he turned onto Northwest 42nd Street.
A Jeep going west then struck the deputy’s cruiser, Houchin said. The Jeep was totaled in the crash, and the cruiser had $20,000 in damage.
Chance and the driver of the jeep were taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Houchin said Chance was cited on suspicion of failing to yield and not wearing a seat belt.
