DHS agent crashed while serving deportation warrant in north Lincoln, LPD says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Department of Homeland Security agent crashed Saturday while serving a deportation warrant in north Lincoln, police said in a crash report.
Around 11:20 a.m., an agent with Nebraska DHS spotted a man, who was wanted on a deportation warrant, near North 14th Street and Cornhusker Highway.
The agent tried to pull over the man, who was driving a Dodge Dakota, according to the crash report.
The vehicle took off but suddenly came to a stop on Cornhusker Highway.
Police said this led the agent to crash into the vehicle’s rear. Officers noted the icy road conditions in the crash report.
The driver of the Dodge was taken into custody by DHS agents. A passenger in the Dodge was taken to a hospital with neck pain.
Police said the agent also had neck pain but told officers he would drive himself to the hospital if needed.
