Dog, cat killed in southeast Lincoln house fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several firefighters battled a blaze at a southeast Lincoln house on Friday.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews were sent to the home near 52nd and La Salle streets around 9:50 a.m.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said an electric dehydrator started the fire in the kitchen.

A dog and a cat were killed in the fire.  Another cat was taken to a vet.

Lierman said the damage is estimated at around $125,000.
