Dog stolen outside north Lincoln Walgreens, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for a man who stole a dog last month outside of a north Lincoln Walgreens.

Around 3 p.m. on Nov. 11, a woman stopped at the Walgreens on 27th and Vine streets and tied her dog, a Jack Russell terrier named Odie, to a sign outside.

When she came out of the store 10 minutes later, Odie was gone, according to police.

A man wearing a darker-colored top and lighter-colored pants was seen in security video taking the dog, police said.

Police have provided a photo of Odie in hopes of returning the dog to its owner.

LPD is also searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash at 10th and O streets at around 8 p.m. on Nov. 22.

A pedestrian who had the walk signal was crossing the street when she was struck by a lighter-colored sedan.

Some bystanders helped the victim, who ended up with a concussion and multiple bruises, police said.

The vehicle involved had “noticeable” damage on the passenger side front door and multiple bumper stickers, according to police.
