Dreary days drag on, but a break in this pattern soon
Another gray day is in store for Thursday. Areas of fog and patchy dense fog will continue through the morning before improving by the afternoon. This is a stubborn weather pattern that has been largely unchanging. Temperatures again will not change much in the low to mid 30s.
A Dense Fog Advisory again is in effect for Thursday morning until noon. Visibilities could drop as low as a quarter mile during this timeframe.
There also is some light drizzle in far southeast Nebraska that will continue on and off into the early afternoon, remaining confined to that area before most of the rain passes to the east through Iowa and Missouri.
With low clouds and fog, highs again will be in the 30s for eastern Nebraska. With more sun and clearing, high temperatures forecasted in the 40s and 50s out west.
Even though this week hasn’t seen a lot of change, we are so much warmer than last week! Last week ended with highs in the single digits. This week, the forecast calls for highs staying in the 30s as we look toward the weekend.
This has been a STUBBORN weather pattern producing similar dreary, gray days back-to-back this week. Are you looking for that change for more sun and warmer weather? The answers can be found as we walk through what’s happening in those atmospheric ~ waves ~ .
So cheer on that upper-level ridge if you want the snow and the warmer weather to come our way!
