Driver accused of DUI in crash on Highway 77 in south Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A driver is accused of DUI in a two-vehicle crash in south Lincoln on Saturday, police say.

The crash happened at Highway 77 and Warlick Boulevard around 7:55 p.m.

In a crash report, police said the driver of a Kia Spectra “failed to yield the right of way” when turning onto Warlick Boulevard.

The Kia then t-boned a Toyota Corolla before leaving the road and crashing into a street camera pole.

The crash caused the driver and two passengers to be ejected from the Kia, according to police.

The three occupants of the Toyota had to be extricated from the vehicle.

All six people were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said the driver of the Kia is being charged with DUI and failing to yield.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
