Driver and kids escape car fire near Beatrice unharmed
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A car went up in flames Monday afternoon on a rural road near Beatrice.
About 2 p.m., firefighters responded to West Hickory Road near Highway 77, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
They found a car ablaze, and a fire had also sparked in an adjacent field, the sheriff’s office said.
Crews put out the flames in both the car and the grass.
Authorities said the driver and his juvenile passengers made it out of the car without injury.
The fire was probably caused by a mechanical problem, according to the sheriff’s office.
