Driver, children rescued after rollover crash on icy road in northeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A vehicle rolled over Thursday morning on an icy rural road in Stanton County, the sheriff’s office says.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on East Benjamin Avenue, just northeast of Norfolk.

An SUV was heading west when the driver lost control due to “speed and icy road conditions,” the sheriff’s office said.

The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled over.

The driver and two children were trapped and had to be extricated from the SUV, according to the sheriff’s office.

All three were treated at the scene by crews from Norfolk Fire and Rescue.  The sheriff’s office said the vehicle was a total loss.
