Driver cited in south Lincoln crash that seriously injured motorcyclist

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A driver was ticketed Thursday in a south Lincoln crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist.

Police said the driver of a minivan was cited on suspicion of failing to yield the right of way.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on April 4 at 33rd Street and Nebraska Parkway.

A motorcycle was heading east on Nebraska Parkway and hit a van that was turning onto southbound 33rd, according to police.

The driver of the van and the motorcyclist were taken to a hospital.

Police said the motorcyclist no longer has life-threatening injuries and can respond to commands.

The crash shut down eastbound Nebraska Parkway for several hours.
