LPD: Driver with BAC twice the legal limit, six bags of cocaine arrested

LINCOLN, Neb.  (KLKN-TV)― A man was pulled over early Sunday with a blood-alcohol content more than twice the legal limit, Lincoln police say.

Officers saw a pickup truck going south on 14th Street, against the flow of one-way traffic, just before 2:30 a.m.

They stopped the vehicle in the 100th block of Centennial Mall North and saw two open bottles of beer.

A search of the pickup yielded a loaded 9 mm pistol under the driver’s seat.

Police say the driver, 33-year-old Arturo Raya, had a blood-alcohol content of .203.

He was taken to jail, where officers say they found six bags of crack cocaine on him.

Raya, a convicted felon, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, third offense aggravated driving under the influence, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of an open alcohol container, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and having no driver’s license.

Additional charges related to the cocaine may be filed.
