LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was injured Thursday while leading troopers on a 30-second pursuit on Interstate 80 in Omaha, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Around 8:15 a.m., a trooper saw a Toyota Sienna heading south reaching speeds of around 90 miles per hour on Interstate 680.

The driver, 32-year-old Nicholas Brady, was merging onto eastbound I-80 when a trooper tried to pull him over.

Brady refused to stop and sped off, according to the patrol.

About 30 seconds later, Brady lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the barrier that separates the east and west lanes.

Brady’s vehicle also struck a Chevrolet Impala, which caused minor damage.

Brady had to be extricated from his vehicle by Omaha Fire and Rescue.  He was then transported to Bergan Mercy Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Charges are still pending for Brady, the patrol says.

The driver of the Impala, 27-year-old Tylon Holmes, was not injured.

Holmes, who had an active warrant, was arrested and lodged in Douglas County Jail, according to the patrol.

The Omaha Police Department has begun an investigation into the crash.
