Driver killed in rollover crash in York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person was killed Tuesday night in a rollover crash in York, police say.

First responders were sent to the crash in the parking lot of McDonald’s near Highway 81 and McGowan Street around 7:55 p.m.

An investigation revealed that a vehicle exited the Interstate 80 westbound ramp and rolled multiple times.

The vehicle came to a stop in the McDonald’s parking lot, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found the overturned vehicle with two people inside.  They were able to remove those occupants with the help of a community member.

Officers tried to save the life of the driver, who was then taken to York General Hospital.  They later died from their injuries, according to police.

The passenger was also taken to the hospital.  The extent of their injuries is unknown.

An investigation is ongoing.
