Driver made up story about being violently robbed, Nebraska police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A driver who claimed that he was violently robbed earlier this summer made the whole thing up, according to Nebraska authorities.

The Grand Island Police Department said Friday that a thorough investigation revealed that Adam Peterson lied about what happened in July.

He originally reported that someone punched him in the face while he was parked near West Capital Avenue and North Engleman Road.

Peterson claimed that the attacker sped off with his wallet, along with a moneybag for the business he works for.

He’s now facing a false reporting charge.
