LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol says one of its troopers stopped a driver going 100 mph through Lincoln.

This happened along Interstate 80, and the driver claimed they were “late for a meeting” while trying to explain their rush.

On Twitter, the patrol’s Troop H noted that the driver was “delayed further” by being pulled over and stressed that no meeting is worth risking your life.

The agency is urging everyone to slow down and drive safe.

According to data previously shared by the patrol, we’re coming off of the deadliest year on Nebraska roads since 2007.

Two hundred fifty-four people were killed in 2022, and authorities say speed was a big factor.
