Drizzle, patchy freezing drizzle with fog could lead to slippery start again
There’s a similar feel to how Wednesday starts for the morning commute and into the afternoon. Areas of dense fog have developed overnight with some light freezing drizzle expected to create icy conditions once more across southeast Nebraska.
A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday, as temperatures are expected to rise above freezing.
A Dense Fog Advisory also remains in place for most of Nebraska through noon Wednesday. With temperatures continuing to tiptoe around freezing, patchy freezing fog will also be an issue across southern Nebraska for Wednesday morning. Use caution when driving throughout Wednesday morning with low visibility and slick conditions expected for many.
Light freezing drizzle will be possible through the morning, before tapering off as the fog improves through the afternoon again. Highs this afternoon across the area will only nudge slightly toward the mid-30s.
And no, it isn’t Groundhog Day just yet even though it’s starting to feel like the movie with the forecast almost “copy and paste” for Thursday, too. Similar conditions are expected with slightly warmer temperatures, fueling fog once more and some light drizzle.
This week continues its dreary stretch, but warmer weather and sunshine comes soon after by this weekend and lasts well into next week.
