Dry and warm Labor Day; Possible showers out west
A majority of the state will be mostly sunny and warm on Labor Day. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible out west, but there will still be plenty of dry time in the morning and afternoon. Temperatures stay above average before we see a cool down following a cold front.
Even with meteorological fall upon us our temperatures are remaining summer-like. Upper 90s and lower 100s are likely throughout Monday.
Labor Day will not only be warm it will be breezy too. Gusts range from 10-26 mph throughout the day.
Humidity is calming down, with dew points in the mid to lower 60s, we will lack a muggy feel in the air.
Stormcast projects much of central and eastern Nebraska seeing little cloud coverage and mostly sunny skies. The panhandle is likely to see some hit or miss pop-up storm chances arriving in the afternoon and lasting into the evening hours.
A Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for Severe Weather is in place for parts of the Panhandle throughout Monday. Possible lightning and thunderstorm activity are the main concerns, however if you are heading west for the holiday there will still be dry time as well, for much of the morning and afternoon.
