Dry start to July in Nebraska
June 2025 precipitation totals for Lincoln and Omaha were below normal. Grand Island skyrocketed past normal totals due to recent record rains flooding the area.
Below shows you how much each location saw in total for June, the normal precipitation based on climate for the month of June, how far off each location was from normal and then normal total precipitation we can expect heading into July.
July starts off dry, though. Dry for at least a few days before storm chances return by the holiday.
It should be a fantastic day (especially in the cooler morning hours as temperatures hover around 60°). High temperatures will be about average for early July as well.
As some travel gets underway this week, most of the nearby states are going to be rather quiet in the near future, too.
The exceptions: some pop-up showers and storms in the higher elevation toward the Rockies Tuesday afternoon which may cross into western Nebraska tonight, and a few isolated storms from South Dakota attempting to make it into northeast Nebraska early Wednesday.
By the middle part of the week, temperatures will bump up to the middle 90s. More humidity by then will make it feel like the upper 90s by those days, but we know it could be worse at this time of the year. Not awful!
Winds will also be fairly light in the days to come until Thursday and Friday.
