Dry to start the week; Rain chances return by mid-week
Mother Nature decided to play nice across most of Nebraska on Independence Day! We discussed the possibility of an isolated shower or storm on Saturday, but that just didn’t pan out. Lincoln will remain dry for the remainder of the 4th, perfect for any 4th of July festivities! Temperatures will drop into the upper-70s by the time most fireworks displays are beginning.
Skies will be mostly clear Sunday evening and overnight. Lows by Monday morning will be in the upper-60s.
We should remain mostly dry for your Monday as well. Computer model guidance is throwing some showers and storms in northern Nebraska Monday afternoon. Although these storms will be moving off towards the south, I don’t think they’ll even come close to Lincoln. So we’ll keep a rain chance for some of our counties in the northern part of the state, but not for Lincoln.
Lincoln should stay mostly clear on Monday with highs reaching the mid-90s in many spots!
Our next rainmaker arrives Tuesday afternoon and evening. That is our best chance for rain over the next several days. After that system passes, a cooler air mass will rush in for the day on Wednesday. That should drop highs into the 80s on Wednesday!
