Dry weather for the next couple of days…

Memorial Day turned out to be nice weather-wise. The day was mostly dry, despite a few spotty showers in the morning farther south. In fact, some locations in Kansas saw upwards of 2 inches of rain! So we fared out nicely, with only a couple hundredths of an inch reported along the southern row of counties in Nebraska.

Morning Rainfall

Temperatures were also nice, many locations topping out in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Monday evening will remain dry under partly cloudy skies. There is a chance for some patchy fog overnight as lows drop into the lower 50s. Otherwise, we remain partly cloudy and dry overnight.

Tuesday afternoon will feature partly cloudy skies with a *small* chance for a stray shower or storm. Our atmosphere is very dry, so I have a hard time thinking that we’ll see widespread storm activity. Nevertheless, it is possible for *some* locations to get just enough moisture to pop the lid on the atmosphere and produce a few downpours. Any storms that do develop will be short-lived. That aside, we’re mainly dry tomorrow and warmer with highs in the middle 70s.
Temperatures will gradually creep up as we head towards the week’s end…and oh, did I mention that the humidity is going to creep up also? Dew points above 60° generally start to get in the “uncomfortable” territory, and we’ll be seeing dew points near that threshold Friday onward. So for now, enjoy the comfortable air!
